We walk on broken ankles
from the city to the sounds
once the singing of the sirens
now the baying of the hounds
looking for familiar faces
in the darkness of the crowd
'cause in the sun vampires
sleep their deaths away
So I rifle through my pockets
for a silver tongue to bear
blades of hate and insecurity
before the demons know that there's
a man who walks among them
in disguises that they where
or so I tell myself
so I can sleep at night
And we scream
'til we're stripped
of the need
to forget
every dance
every step
What was right?
Now what's left?

I read alone
To pass the time since you've been gone to learn
How to never be alone again
And I'll take you home
From the hole in which they told you that
You'd never roam no more
A Face like yours
Don't deserve to be hidden away
If I could step inside
The house we built where I could hide then I'd
Be safe only under caring eyes
And I won't lie
If the skeletons I'm hiding are the only ones you'll find
Don't be afraid of the person inside
