Street Lights

So close to nothing
til the lights begin to fade
and all I radiate
is all you'll ever need until the day
Saviour Fluorescent
Ill keep you dry in a dark sea
or just a station til you find yourself
something better down the street
Now she's dancing through the street
as if the music never stopped
yeah shes everything I never knew enough to have forgot
whats the point pretending that I'm not here to stay
I'm just a fixture catching glimpses
as she's dancing away.
Staring as she moves so deftly
like clockwork out of time
to the sound of claws unclenching this floating rock
as they place it into mine
and she'd still be spinning if the sun forgot to glow
but for now she's spinning like were everything
and that's all I need to know.
Now she's dancing through the street
as if the music never stopped
yeah shes everything I never knew enough to have forgot
whats the point pretending that I'm not here to stay
I'm just a fixture catching glimpses
as she's dancing away.

Mountain Oysters

Blood soaked in sand
where shadows grow tall
and legions lay leveled
with the drop of your jaw
To charge into hell
to rise from the crawl
I'd be your devil
if anything at all.
What would you steal
should fresh bowstrings not break?
And what would I feel
if through new ropes I wake?
These honor bound bonds made from each lock you take
What was my price
What did you make?
The crowd erupts as cannons
every shot fired's
One for you the cry
as much as they would like to see you win
You know that hey would much rather watch you die
Now I scratch at my face
to sharpen these horns
and hate til I'm numb til I cant feel the scorn
The way this head hangs once such valiance torn
My past wouldn't guess that I've ever not worn
burn blackened eyes
Of Samson Chained
I'd tear us down if you could promise me your pain
See from my throat, spill pride as rain
I needn't hope as these columns come falling
The crowd erupts as cannons
every shot fired's
One for you the cry
as much as they would like to see you win
You know that hey would much rather watch you die

Name For It

She's the glinting diamond
on the flying trapeze
Silhouette on the pinhole night sky
with the birds and the trees
and everything
Miles above
the skylines city
Here's the body that heaven boasts
and it soars like she sings
and it floats like a ghost it goes
She'll acquaint you
with the pain of breaking
as the horizon steals the red taillights
and everything gets smaller and smaller and smaller
Whatever she reach for
Doesn't have to reach for her
She can shatter just like everyone else
and just like everyone else, her mosaic will be built someday

I'm blessed with sun
Where once had all been dark and somber
Instead of basking I'm just waiting for the rain
Not everyone was meant to leave on happy endings
Some of us are just allowed less pain
And Now I'm waiting for blue skies to falter
I'm waiting for the black clouds to return
I'm Waiting for the ground to crack from underneath and my feet
and take me down
to where I'm safe and sound and watch me burn
Watch me burn
You've shown me colors I've not seen
so many things I cant begin to know the meaning
I'll admit it caught my eye
But when I return to myself
These thoughts will gain dust on the shelf
And in the end it'll just keep killing me inside
And Now I'm waiting for blue skies to falter
I'm waiting for the black clouds to return
I'm Waiting for the ground to crack from underneath and my feet
and take me down
to where I'm safe and sound and watch me burn
Watch me burn
Oh oh oh (X alot.)
to where I'm safe and sound and watch me burn
Watch me burn

Two Headed Cat

We walk on broken ankles
From the city to the sound
Once the singing of the sirens
now the beying of the hounds
Looking or familiar faces
in the darkness of the crowd
Cause in the sun
Vampires sleep their deaths away.
So I rifle through my pocket
for a silver tongue to bear
blades of hate and insecurity
'fore the demons know that there
be a man who walks among them
in disguises that they where
or so I tell myself
So I can sleep at night
And we scream
til we're stripped
of the need
to forget
Every dance
Every step
What was right?
Now what's Left?

Lack

Walking down a dark street
Through a story with an ending I don't know
leaving behind all of my promises
With just a case in tow
Without a care at all
that all the old beat pathways wouldn't show
and nowhere i really need to go
after some lost time wandering
I began to feel the strain
Despite all I had left behind
what I kept still manage to pain
If I continue now
I knew there would be nothing I could gain
and there's no reason to feign
Because I'm bolder now than I have been
Yes I'm bolder now than I have been
And these steel locks keeping me locked wont be freezing
When I leave them at my heels
Cause I'm bolder now than I have been
As the air lifted my shoulders
and the wind lifted my feet
it felt so good to feel so good
that I had refused to retreat
as I continued on
it seemed that every man that I would meet
Never seemed as tired as me
Once I chose to remember
I learned that it wouldn't go away
despite all I had shed
what I kept had still managed to weigh
for lack of a better word
the emptiness had long chosen to stay
and I concede theres nothing strong as yesterday
Because I'm bolder now than I have been
Yes Im bolder now than I have been
And these steel locks keeping me locked wont be freezing
When I leave them at my heels
Cause I'm bolder now than I have been
The day I met the ocean
was the day I learned the road did end
Now everything was gone
and I'd forgotten why I had began
I looked into the infinite
and screamed the message I would send
No one really cared to pretend
I looked down at my nakedness
tried to remember what I'd known
time and distance had a way
of turning all my tragedies to jokes
but I'll admit
I was much too tired to want to be alone
So I turned and started home

You're searching for
another rung to reach out for
looking off
the last edge of the world
As shadows dance
quiet across creations eyes
are you the only
who's still surprised
Sailing deep waters
for each rogue wave you could find
running from
the home you left behind
May not be what you want
but maybe what you need
So for now baby lay you head down
go to sleep.

Jellyfish

Translucent broken angel clings to shore
Listing lazy long the sea
This gravity is to abhor
Are you impressed by anything?
You're beautiful
but you question my taste
I've seen you so regal and full
but my vision is to waste
How can you breathe
with that tight lip purse and stare?
Now can't you see
that you're better off down there?
Countless every days wash off your back
Careening absent from the fight
Thick yellow cellophane attack
Blue pooled with oil in the light
On an air you glide
A photoexcitation
Like none other can fly
Expecting admiration
The visage looked upon to set to stone
is this the fluid work of art?
Is this the skill you choose to hone?
Is this the quintessential start?
Free from peer or bloom
Your umbrella shields emotion
When the new tide looms
Will it still be your ocean?
What can be helped
When your toxic claws are hid?
Not to push or pull
like everybody always did.
Are you sunken have you drowned
Are you everything I lost and lever found
The virtue you're the sin
and I'm everything that won't let me begin
That creeping sense of dread
and tiny voices swimming through my head
Full of lies and all so wrong
Had what I seen been nothing all along
I'm healthy not the hole
you used to dump the remnants of my soul
I'm lucid I am proud
and not just everything that I'm allowed
So much wasted on the tryst
and not a single thing that I will miss
So permittance to exist
Dictates the cry of triumph and it goes a little something like
